Retro Rewind is a video store simulator in the style of the 80s and 90s. You can run your own virtual video rental store, manage movies, serve customers, and indulge in nostalgia.
Yes, the database is completely free.
The Retro Rewind Database works in all modern browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. For the best retro experience, we recommend using full-screen mode and enabling animations.
Account & Profile
Click “Login” in the top right corner, then select “Register” and fill out the form. You'll receive a confirmation email to activate your account. After that, you can get started right away!
Yes! Go to your Edit profile and select “Username.” Please note that the username must be unique and comply with certain guidelines.
Yes! Go to your Edit profile and select “Profile.” Please note that your display name must be unique and should follow certain guidelines.
Yes! Go to your Edit profile and select “Email Address”.
On the login page, you'll find the “Forgot your password?” link. Enter your registered email address, and you'll receive a link to reset your password.
Store & Inventory
After registering, you can create a new shop via your Edit profile. Choose a shop name, upload a shop background image, and you're all set to go. Your shop will then appear in the Shop overview.
In your Shop overview, you'll find the “Inventory” section. There, you can select titles from the entire Database and add them to your inventory. You can also add a movie to your inventory directly from the Database by clicking the “Add to Inventory” button.
In your Shop overview, you'll find the “Favorites” section. There, you can select titles from the entire Database and add them to your favorites. You can also add a movie to your favorites directly from the Database by clicking the “Add to Favorites” button.
In your Shop overview, you'll find the “Inventory” section. There, you can select titles from the entire Database and add them to your showcase. You can display up to 12 movies in your showcase.
In your Shop overview, you'll find the “Employees” section. There, you can manage your employees. You can hire up to 2 employees.
In your Shop overview, you'll find the “Billings” section. There, you can manage your billings.
Movies & Database
You cannot add new movies. All movies currently available in the game have been added to the database.
You cannot rate movies. But you can vote for each movie.
